Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association of Leo Independent Fire Engine Company, No. 1
VFRALIFEC is a non-profit organization established on December 13, 1913, to afford financial protection to our volunteer firefighters who suffer misfortune as a result of their efforts. VFRALIFEC receives state aid from a 2-percent state tax on fire insurance purchased by Pennsylvania residents from insurance companies incorporated outside of the commonwealth. These funds are used to pay for insurance to protect our volunteer firefighters, purchase fire equipment and to cover volunteer training expenses. Our VFRA funds are audited to make sure they are spent according to state law. The VFRA has administrative members to oversee operations and holds regular meetings for conducting business.
